On 7th April 09, we went to Keukenhof (means The Kitchen Garden). It is open from 19 Mar - 21 May 2009 (annualy). The Cost is :€13.50 for adult; seniors €13; 4-11s €6.50; parking €6
Opening Hours:Daily 8am-7.30pm
We bought the ticket online a few days before. Everything was smooth. The weather in the morning was not so good. But through the day was pleasant, a bit cold sometimes but no rain.
This garden was huge. Set in 77 acres of wooded park in Lisse, Keukenhof are some of the world's most spectacular flower gardens. Established in 1949 as a showcase for Dutch bulb-growers, every spring more than seven million buds reach to the sky.
You can easily spend 3 hours without notice. Aiman and Anas felt bored and Anas started to cry. But hang on. I got an idea. I gave my very good camera and gave them a task to find a good frame and snap it. It worked I tell you. They became excited. And were very eager to find a good angle for a shot
Actually, this garden has many attractions for kids. The playground was wonderful and enjoyable. Once my kids came to the playground, they were reluctant to leave.
We spent almost 6 hours here. From here at first we decided to visit my friend Dr A in Ghent, Belgium. But we changed our mind because, I was tired to drive for another 2 hours to Ghent, so we decided to have a rest in our tent at Duinrell, Wassenaar. That was good news. Then came the bad news.
To be continued ....
